Parishioners, parish clergy and youth ministers are invited to join Million Minutes online on 21 January 2021 for a virtual open day, outlining their new ‘Beacon Parishes’ initiative for youth ministry in changing times. There is a choice of two alternative times to take part: 10.30-12.30pm or 7-8.30pm.
The event is offered as an opportunity to discover how parishes can heed the Pope’s call to develop a youth ministry that ensures all young people know they are valued as a vital part of the Church. Through its Beacon Parishes initiative, Million Minutes will also work with a small number of parishes who will have the chance to dedicate ‘one million minutes’ (approximately two years) to develop their youth ministry, striving to create meaningful times and spaces where all young people feel valued, providing the parishes with accompaniment, support and resources to help them achieve this.
The Million Minutes team says: “Whether you’ve got an established ministry in your parish or don’t know where to start you are most welcome to our open day!”
The event will cover some of the following ground:
Theology input from Fr Christopher Jamison OSB
Grappling with the Shift
Our Offer to Parishes
Practicalities of getting involved
Question and Answer session
