As part of its series of online events on social justice themes, Justice and Peace Scotland is hosting a discussion on Sunday 7th March, 4:70 – 7pm, entitled Poverty & Pandemic. While the focus for the discussion is on Scotland, the impact of COVID-19 has exposed and exacerbated the inequalities and divides in society everywhere, with children and young people deeply affected.
A panel will share their experience of the issues, and participants can add their own experience and ask questions. Justice and Peace Scotland describes the aims of the event: ‘Together we will share, reflect and start to identify how the church can be ready and prepared in our communities to meet the challenges which remain.’
The panel includes Prof Stephen McKinney (University of Glasgow), Fr Basil Clark VE (Archdiocese of St. Andrews & Edinburgh), Danny Collins (National President, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Scotland) and Martin Johnstone (Poverty Truth Network / At the Edge).
