Advent: Travelling Nativity

St William of York, Sheffield began a lovely tradition in the parish in 2005.
Starting from the church on the first Sunday of Advent, the nativity figures of Mary, Joseph and the donkey make a journey round family homes, spending each night with a different family, before returning to church on Christmas Eve – shown in the photo. A sheet with prayers for a short service arrives with Mary and Joseph at each home.
Why not get young people to help host Mary and Joseph on their journey to Bethlehem by running a travelling nativity?
