New Facebook group for talking Catholic Youth Ministry

Catholic Youth Ministry organisations have responded to the turmoil of the past few months by creating online discussions and opportunities for learning, which have been appreciated by everyone who took part. Now, a new online Facebook community has been created through a collaboration by Million Minutes, CYMFed and other Catholic organisations titled Catholic Youth Ministry in England and Wales, to continue and develop on those discussions. Advent 2020 resources from CAFOD

A range of resources for Advent in primary and secondary schools is now available from the CAFOD website.

The resources include an Advent liturgy with accompanying notes, a reconciliation service, and an Advent calendar in PowerPoint format, which is ideal for daily class prayers.

New programme to help secondary schools support student wellbeing

Quo Vadis, a new programme from Kenelm Youth Trust (KYT) aims to equip secondary schools to support the mental health and wellbeing of their students.

KYT will train and support school staff in delivering their 12-session Catholic mental health resource, and guiding students in using the accompanying journal, facilitate Mental Health First Aid training, and provide mentoring training for staff and peer mentors in schools. Read more

New Award celebrates young people’s response to COVID crisis

In this year when so many have faced tremendous challenges, Million Minutes has added a new category to its Celebrating Young People Awards, with the support of Cardinal Nichols. The Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati Award will enable schools, parishes and communities to recognise the amazing actions of young people (aged 11-25) in their communities in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
