What’s happening at CYW.com?

Dear all,

You may already know that this site has now been taken on by the Salesians of Don Bosco, an international religious order dedicated to working for the young and the poor. I (Chris Knowles) have been appointed as the new editor of the site, so I now have the good pleasure of running it!

We intend to continue to be a source of ideas, support, jobs, networking and inspiration for those involved in youth ministry, and intend to build on the work Jack has done in developing the site. We want to better resource and support those involved in youth ministry and see the site becoming an active and vibrant community where people can offer support and guidance for others, a place you can find and share resources, a place you can hear the good things others are doing as well as what’s happening at a Diocesan and national level.

To do this we need to develop a new website that will remain in the same place on the internet (catholicyouthwork.com) but one that gives us more flexibility and site functionality, as well as making it easier to keep up with the fast changes in social communications. We’re also taking this opportunity to develop new branding for the site that we hope will help us engage with more people who work in youth ministry.

This should take us around three months, at which point we’ll focus on promoting the site, building community and meeting as many of you as possible at events and meetings so that we can respond to the needs you have. We’re really excited about all these opportunities and we hope you are too!

If you have any thoughts, questions, or just want to say hey then please do get in touch either through social media, post on the site or you can email me at chris@catholicyouthwork.com.
