Pope’s WYD 2019 message: “a revolution of service”

Vatican News published a video this week with an energising message from Pope Francis for January’s World Youth Day in Panama.

In the video, he talks about the WYD2019 theme – Mary’s response to God’s call, and encourages young people ‘to discover what God wants from us and to be brave enough to say “yes”’.

His Holiness talks about understanding our vocation as Mary did, and the deep desire many young people ‘both believers, and nonbelievers, feel to do something to help people who are suffering, identifying this as a great strength of the young:  ‘It is a strength that can change the world. It is a revolution that can overturn the powerful forces at work in our world. It is the “revolution” of service’, he says.

His Holiness also encourages young people to get involved in the initiatives taking place in the lead up to WYD.
